Summary:
The digidestined are still watching over the dark spore children. Cody's grandfather finally meets Armadillomon. He guesses he is from another world, a digital one. His grandfather explains to him that Cody's father talked all the time about the digital world. Because his mother is worried Cody's granddad will go along with him when he meets up with his friends. Nariko's dark spore is blooming early. Cody relieves Yolei of guarding her house. Oikawa arrives and notices Cody's name on his bag. Oikawa and Cody's father used to be best friends. Yolei, Mummymon and Arukenimon arrive. Mummymon and Arukenimon want to attack but Oikawa sends them away. Oikawa remembers Hiroki, Cody's father. He tells himself that it still won't stop him from his destiny and plans. Cody tells his grandfather that Oikawa knows his dad.

Ken meets Nariko and tells her that the power she seeks gives you nothing but loneliness. Nariko still won't listen to him. The spore starts to sprout and glows red. Davis and Cody arrive soon followed by Oikawa and his lackeys. Wormmon and Veemon digivolve and then DNA digivolve to Paildramon. Paildramon fights off Mummymon and Arukenimon but Oikawa rushes towards Nariko. Armadillomon armor digivolves to Digmon but Mummymon and Arukenimon attack him. Oikawa absorbs the power of the dark spore and flower. Cody tells him to let her go. After completely absorbing the power he hands Nariko over to him. Cody tells Oikawa that he doesn't deserve to call himself his father's friend. Oikawa glows with the power of a force field.

Blackwargreymon arrives. He uses his Terra Destroyer attack but it doesn't faze Oikawa. Wargreymon and Tai arrive. Blackwargreymon asks Oikawa if he created Mummymon and Arukenimon because he was afraid of being alone. Yolei and the others arrive. Cody's grandfather comes and talks to Oikawa. He tells him that he would like to be his friend. He misses his son and it would be great to talk to someone who once was his friend. He says that when Hiroki died Oikawa lost his only friend. The real Oikawa wakes up for a second but the dark powers that control him quickly regain control. He goes to attack Cody's grandfather but Blackwargreymon gets in the way. Blackwargreymon comes to realize who is controlling Oikawa. Oikawa says that he must harvest all of the dark spores to get to the digital world. Blackwargreymon says Oikawa cannot be allowed to go the digital world ever again. The digidestined are confused, thinking that Oikawa never was in the digital world. Blackwargreymon is dying, his strength slowly leaving him. He uses what strength he has left as his final gift to the world. He uses his life and energy to seal the Highton View Terrace gate before he dies. A rainbow appears in the sky and Wargreymon calls him a true friend.
